Cecilia Ruiz (otherwise known as Ceci) is an undergraduate student (Class of 2015) from Southern California studying aerospace engineering. She chose aerospace because she is very interested in learning the skills necessary to design and work in the aviation industry. After graduation, Ceci plans to work in the aviation industry helping to design jet engines for GE Aviation. In order to enhance her engineering experience, she has become very involved as president of Hispanic Engineers and Scientists (HES), the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) student chapter at her campus. Her goal is to increase participation at HES events and to create a strong "familia" among her engineering peers.

As a fourth year student, Ceci is also working on maintaining high marks in her core aerospace courses while juggling campus jobs to pay her way through college. Apart from gaining technical knowledge in an academic setting, she also has recent experience as an intern at GE Aviation and as an undergraduate research assistant. Outside of work and engineering, Ceci enjoys dancing and serving as part of the Latino Campus Ministry. She is an active dance member of Ballet Folklorico Azul y Oro, a group that prides itself in exposing the campus to traditional, Mexican folkloric dancing through various performances. As a part of Latino Campus Ministry, she serves at the weekly Spanish mass and is passionate about improving the University of Notre Dame as a welcoming home for the Latino community.

The best way to contact her is by email. She is more than happy to take advantage of opportunities that will enhance her skills as a prospective engineer.
