Capstone Essay
After doing all my journal posts and ePorfolio work I have learned a couple really important lessons. I learned that every now and then, journaling can help you get your plans rolling; while working on the ePorfolio, I began to expound upon my goals. You can see that after setting a goal to make the Dean's A-List, I designed the journal section of my First Year Studies tab around the checklist that Dean Page published. After choosing to include so much information in my ePortfolio, I figured I needed a clear way to organize everything I was sharing. In an effort to make all my evidence available, I put links into a "table of contents matrix" for FYS Milestones and University Outcomes. As you may have noticed, I created connections between my journal posts using hyperlinks. For example, in my Plan of Study I created a link to take viewers to a tab displaying my courseload for each semester. The most difficult challenge in my ePortfolio was providing strong evidence for my experiences; in my different Journal tabs you can see a little bit of my process and what questions I asked myself before starting each post. Now that I have worked on my ePortfolio skills, I consider providing evidence to by one of my strongest skills; in my About Me tab, I use picture evidence to tell my viewers a little more about myself. Working with ePortfolio's has taken my skills and strengths and given support for each one. Through my ePortfolio's Acadmic Showcase tab, I was able to demonstrate my best work in order to provide support for my academic rigor.
