Introduction to Chemical Principles is the introductory chemistry class for chemistry and biochemistry majors. Although this class was not required for my desired major or minor, I elected to stay in this track because I wanted to challenge myself. While exploring what chemistry would be like as a major, I learned:

  • Quantum Theory
  • Atomic and Molecular Orbital Theory
  • Trend & Tendencies on the Periodic Table
  • Lewis Structures, Resonance, & Electron Interaction
  • IR Spectroscopy & Nuclear Magnetic Resonance
  • Chemical Equilibria
  • Quantitative Energies- Enthalpy, Entropy, and Spontaneity

Although I have decided that my interests do not perfectly align with a chemistry major, I really enjoyed learning the processes, techniques, and theories behind general chemical principles.
