If I could give one piece of advice to incoming first year students: even if you aren't struggling...Go to the LRC!!!

The Learning Resource Center has been one of the most helpful resources during my first year. Starting with the summer before my first year, I regularly visited the LRC to study and do my homework. When I was having trouble in my Introduction to Chemical Principles class, I joined a collaborative learning group and was able to go step-by-step through all of my homework and test problems. By finals of my first semester, I was pretty comfortable going to the LRC and visited a finals study session for each of my classes. The LRC helped me find people in my classes to study with and allowed me to reach my full potential.
