The Balfour-Hesburgh Scholars Program was quite possibly the best segue I could have had into college. This 25 person program was geared to mentoring and easing multicultural students into their first year at Notre Dame. During the Summer of 2014, I took Calculus, Chemistry, Writing & Rhetoric, and several leadership seminars.

The work was very involved. Although the program only lasted four weeks, it was the most intensive four weeks of classes I had ever had. The advisors and professors were determined to get us acclimated to the intense coursework that would follow in the fall. Over the span of five weekends and four "regular" weeks of school, I was able to map out and plan for my first year experiences at Notre Dame.
