I am currently also working on my senior thesis on uranium coordination chemistry of various new uranyl structures that I have been able to synthesize in the lab. I am studying the formation and solubility of these various structures as it has important relationships in the nuclear fuel cycle. The ability to selectively control solubilities of these structures will allow for a much more efficient reprocessing method of spent nuclear fuel in order to recycle it.
