Kristian Lax-Walker

Kristian Lax-Walker is an academic advisor in the University of Notre Dame’s First Year of Studies (FYS) and holds the rank of Assistant Professional Specialist. Her advisees are primarily students who intend to pursue a major in the Mendoza College of Business and the College of Science.
Kristian earned a B.A. in Speech Communication from Indiana University South Bend and an M.S. in Academic Advising from Kansas State University where she took additional course work with a focus on college student athletes. Ms. Lax-Walker is a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) as well as The National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A).
Kristian's advising philosphy centers on a whole-person approach utilizing coaching skills to partner with students as they transition into university life. In addition to Kristian's work with students, in 2016 she was the recipient of the Team Irish Presidential Award for her work with the Mandela Washington Fellowship.
