PROJECT REFLECTION

"I have produced an audio recording for another course before but this project opened my eyes even more."

This project introduced me to many different audio resources and taught me how to use them. I have produced an audio recording for another course using Audacity before but this project opened my eyes even more. One helpful resource was the SONY audio recorder that I used for recording. The recorder was perfect for professional use since it delivers high quality and cuts out surrounding noise. I also recorded the entire interview in the library's soundbooth, which you can hear from the lack of noise in the background.

A challenge I faced was maintaining equal volume thoroughout the interview. I overcame it by using the equalizer effect and adjusting the volumes of some tracks in Audacity. If I had time, I might record some parts with the interviewee again to remove clipping. Something new I tried was adding a soundtrack as background music in my interview and it ended up a little distracting because of its repetitive melody. I’d like to learn more about how to produce a professional podcast by enrolling in a class or looking up tutorials in the future.
